The Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque, also referred to as the Blue Mosque
Mohammed Al Amin Mosque. The city's major landmark, this huge, striking amber-coloured blue-domed mosque near Martyrs Sq was opened in 2008 and has four minarets standing 65m high. Slain former prime minister Rafic Hariri was instrumental in the project and is buried here. Roman Berytus (Roman Baths), next to the blue-domed Al Amin Mosque. Roman Berytus Baths is an ancient Roman thermae or bath site inside the Roman city of Berytus. It was discovered in 1968-1969 and underwent major renovation in the mid-1990s. The Dome City Center or "The Egg"
The Dome City Center or "The Egg" is an ancient building in Beirut Downtown located near the old church called "Al Azariyyeh" near Martyrs Square.The Dome City Center used to be the first and biggest cinema in Lebanon in the late 1950s. During the Lebanese civil war, it was damaged and a big part of it was destroyed. Since that time, the Lebanese government left the building as a historical place. Beirut, Lebanon - May 2019

Every generation living in Lebanon has been traumatized and every newborn bears the scars of old wounds. There is a long list of tragedies in this land: Wars, civil wars, conflicts, ruined cities, political crises, social discord, occupations, attacks, massacres, bombings, assassinations, riots, uprisings, terrorism.

Beirut, the city of rich history, sadness, delicious foods, chaos and beautiful people has always achieved to be reborn from its ashes. The Romans, Arabs, Crusaders, Mamelukes, Ottomans and French. Each culture, each race and each religion has left a track on these lands. This secular country where people from 18 sects of different religions live together, is also a place where thousands of people died only because of belief differences for 15 years a futile, bloody civil war occurred.
