On Wednesday, March 15, the eighth day of inter-union mobilization against the government’s pension reform was held.
The demonstrators met at 2pm on the esplanade des Invalides in the 7th arrondissement. For the main route the opponents took the rue de Grenelle, the boulevard des Invalides, the boulevard du Montparnasse, the boulevard de Port-Royal and the avenue des Gobelins to the place d’Italie, the terminus in the 13th arrondissement around 7pm.

1.7 million people demonstrated in France, according to the CGT, 480,000 according to the Interior. Some 450,000 people demonstrated Wednesday in Paris for the eighth day of mobilization, announced the CGT, 37,000 according to the police.
The prefecture of police reported 22 arrests during the Parisian demonstration.
“La commission mixte paritaire” agreed in the early afternoon of March 15 on the postponement of the legal retirement age to 64.
In Paris, the garbage collectors and cleaners of the City of Paris have announced that they will continue their strike “at least until March 20”.1
